"We spent two wonderful weeks at Finca Almendra! The route description of Chris & Bob made the drive fairly straightforward, despite the rather remote and narrow route. So we recommend to stock up on groceries on the way, just in case you are not planning too many trips! The Finca was the perfect homebase for us to rest and enjoy the views, while Chris & Bob were always there for suggestions for trips, restaurants, etc. in the area and beyond to make our stay even more enjoyable.
If we ever returned to this area, we'd definitely book again. Thanks again Chris & Bob!"

Home away from Home
We spent a lovely 8 days at Finca Almendra. After navigating the track for the first time we arrived at the villa and were immediately able to drop our bags and enjoy the pool area and beautiful views of the late afternoon. We had stocked up with groceries on the way to the property so we filled the large fridge with provisions and also enjoyed the homemade loaf which had been left in the villa for us. The kids enjoyed the games and lego and often spent time indoors when the sun was at its hottest. There is good shade around the pool, consisting of two large sun shades and four loungers which can be moved to take advantage of the natural shade of the trees. Chris and Bob are very discreet and gave us lots of privacy even though the pool area is right in front of their part of the property. They were available for advice and a chat when needed and otherwise we had our own space. They didn't seem to mind at all when the kids made loud noise playing around the pool!! Bob is particularly useful for local info and ideas of where to visit and local events. We enjoyed lots of community events in Sayalonga during our stay in mid - late August. From a practical point of view, the villa is well equipped and anything else you need can be easily purchased at the local supermarkets. There are ample towels for use in the bathroom but you should bring your own pool towels for use outdoors. We used the fans during the nighttime as it was very hot when we stayed, the kids seemed to cope fine with that and if the shutters are open, there is enough air flowing through to get a good night's sleep. There is a beautiful breakfast terrace which we used every morning for our coffee and pastries. Overall a great experience and would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, away from it all holiday, not too far from the coast. Chris and Bob are excellent hosts. We must also mention the gardens which are absolutely immaculate and must take a lot of maintenance and attention to keep in such good order.

A View Like No Other!
We had a lovely holiday - the villa is absolutely spotless and has everything you could ever need. The swimming pool is fab and the view is unbelievable! Sayalonga is the perfect Spanish village, with a lovely square and great restaurants. Chris and Bob were fantastic and the star of the show was their little dog Chicca!!!

A week at the wonderful Finca Almendra
A holiday at the Finca Almendra is very special for two key reasons: Firstly the Finca itself and its stunning location. The Finca is comfortable and well equipped. It has a decent sized swimming pool set within magnificent surroundings.It is also graced with beautiful, well maintained gardens. Secondly, the owners Chris and Bob are such kind, helpful and friendly people that they must be mentioned in their own right. Bob went out of his way to meet us at Sayalonga when we first arrived as it was quite late in the evening and he was concerned about us finding the place safely (there is a rather tortuous track leading to Finca Almendra).They were both very helpful re. suggesting which places to visit ands where to park etc. At the end of the week it felt like saying goodbye to friends. We had a great week and thoroughly recommend a stay at the Finca Almendra

Een week lang hebben wij enorm genoten van Finca Almendra: Rudie, Ria en Ivo (11) en Camille (9). Wij vonden de vallei, uitzicht op de vallei geweldig. Het was oogsttijd van de nispero. Overal bloeiden bloemen, groeiden citroenen, nisperos, sinassappels, advocados. We hebben elke dag gewandeld, (wandelroute getipt door Bob & Chris,) met picknick, avontuurlijke paden (+/- 3 uur lopen) ook fantastisch voor de kinderen. 2 x ging wij naar de zee, nog lekker rustig op dit moment. Het zwembad was natuurlijk ook een feest. Kortom een fantastisch weekje waar wij allen enorm van hebben genoten.

Escapism in Sayalonga
The villages and towns surrounding the villa are whitewashed villages, serving a community but each are unique in their own way, this is an exceptionally well placed base for the exploration of the Costa Del Sol and regions beyond. The villa nestles into a hill side and is extremely private, as a guest you inhabit the rear of the property but have full access to the pool area as featured in the photograph, this is yours for private use throughout the stay, The owners whilst living on site are sensitive enough to respect your privacy & leave and arrive at the rear of the property leaving you as a guest to the privacy of your party at all times. However should you need guidance on the locality where to go, how to get there, they have firstly stocked the villa with maps, walks and lots of localised guide books, but secondly are a font of knowledge of local behaviour, where's best for this & where's best for that, provided of course that's what you want they are exceptionally accommodating, for me they were a pleasure to have around. The drive to main roads is straight forward and once you reach Algarrobo Costa you pick up the motorway, left for Granada ( A must see) right for Malaga, you also have the secondary option of the coast road that runs parallel in either direction, this I recommend you do at some point, you get a real flavour of Spanish life. Frigiliana, Competa, Torrox ( My favourite pueblo square) Neja, Caletta, Venuela ( Lake) all worth a day out. The scenery is stunning in places, the mountainous region only adds to it's beauty, and it boasts the biggest sky in the evening, no light refraction has a real positive effect. Wildlife is in abundance. Would I stay again, yes, and it would serve as a good base for a young family.

How wonderful was our week in your house! We enjoyed the stunning views, most exotic garden, well equipped house and what a silence at night!
For other guests we have some tips:
we went on a 'e' bike tour in Granada, which was beautiful. Within 2 hours you will see the most beautiful and interesting places of Granada, e.g. The Albaicin, Sacromonte, views of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada peaks.
We had lunch at Meson Morisco in the square in Sayalonga - we recommend The steak on a hot stone!

Vi havde en skøn uge hos Chris og Bob, som er utroligt søde, hjælpsomme mennesker. Huset ligger meget landligt og fredeligt, med en tilkørselsvej der bestemt ikke er for sarte sjæle, men som til gengæld er det hele værd når man kommer frem. Chris og Bob har lavet en meget fin vejbeskrivelse og har placeret skilte der guider en den rigtige vej. Kære Chris og Bob, det var skønt at lære Jer at kende og vi ønsker jer alt det bedste fremover.

Best Holiday Ever!
We had an amazing and much needed holiday. Chris, Bob and Chica are fantastic hosts. The villa is attached to Chris and Bobs home, they are always on hand/ contactable if needed. They respect your privacy, unlike Chica who will run into your villa, jump up on the couch and demand a belly rub (no problem at all). The dirt road was a bit tricky on the first attempt but soon you’ll find that you time yourself and try to set a personal record (10mins for me). The area is beautiful and you will not be disturbed. Saylonga is the nearest town and is picturesque. Some nice wee restaurants in the square which we visited a few times. And there’s a husky pup which sits in one of he newsagents on the main road. Definitely worth a look. I can’t remeber the name of the beaches we visited but they were small coves with only a handful of people on each beach. Unsure as to whether or not they were nuddy beaches, so go with an open mind. Thanks again to Chris and Bob for their advice and recommendationsC and for their hospitality and company on the last night. 11/11

Peaceful villa with a view!
The villa is a 10 minute drive from the village of Sayalonga - it's in a fab location, and fun to drive to on the track roads, but a car is essential for this accommodation. It has a beautiful situation, benefitting from spectacular views and constant sunshine throughout the day. The villa is very well equipped and clean, and was very comfortable to stay in. It was lovely to get to know Chris and Bob, and their fab dog Chica. Very approachable and friendly with a lot of knowledge of the surrounding areas. There were lots of places to visit from here and lots of fab restaurants. We would definitely recommend a stay at Finca Almendra and love to return ourselves.

Chris et Bob sont des gens adorables, serviables et discrets.
Nous avons passé des vacances dans un cadre idyllique au cœur de l' Andalousie, la maison offre tout le confort souhaité avec la piscine qui est un vrai plus lors des chaudes après midi.
La maison est un havre de paix pour les gens en quête de tranquillité et de retour à la nature.
La situation géographique de la finca permet de visiter les deux cotés de cette région car assez centrale.

“Great memories”
We stayed for 10 days in June 2016. The accommodation is located approx 3km along a track from the village of Sayalonga. The villa was very clean on arrival and we were met with a warm welcome from the owners Bob and Chris. The fully equipped villa is located at the rear of Bob and Chris' home so if you needed any advice on places to go or eat they were always on hand to provide information.The garden is beautifully maintained with views you will never tire of and if you feel energetic there are some stunning walks you can take from the villa,the peace and quiet truly is a bonus.The local villages all have great restaurants and at no point did we have a bad meal.We would recommend this property to anyone who wants a peaceful,relaxing holiday with great value for money and we would return for a second holiday without any doubt.

“Cozy "villa" as part of a fantastic finca, beautiful surroundings, very friendly owners”
This was a really wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Andalusian landscape apart from and yet close enough to all the touristy spots of Costa del Sol.
We enjoyed our stay at the cozy "villa" of beautiful Finca Almendra surrounded by a lovely mediterranean garden in full spring blossom - due to perfect weather we also took advantage of the nice pool area with a stunning view to the coast. The owners were very friendly and helpful -they made us feel welcome and at home right away. Staying at the villa we were able to cook our own meals and have barbecue but there are also nice restaurants in 15 minutes reach by car. The region holds a lot of opportunities to go hiking right from the finca, to visit nice places like typical "white villages", well known coast towns at the Costa del Sol or great cities with magnificent historical sites like Granada. We can really recommend the place!
